Yolmer Sanchez won a gold glove in 2019, but with an estimated arbitration salary of $6.2 million for 2020, many felt the White Sox were going to move on from the second baseman and they have.
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported on Monday that Sanchez has been out-righted, clearing a spot on the team’s 40-man roster and making him available on waivers.
Sanchez, 27, has a career slash line of .244/.299/.357, in six seasons with the White Sox.
Meanwhile, Daniel Palka, who was DFA’d after the White Sox signed Yasmani Grandal, wasn’t picked up by any team on waivers and is back at Triple-A.
