Yu Darvish looked great once again in his second spring training start, but unfortunately Sunday’s game against the White Sox wasn’t televised. As a matter of fact, neither of Darvish’s first two starts this spring training have been on TV, so unless you’ve been in attendance down in Arizona all fans have been going on is Darvish’s own words and beat writers giving their perspective.
Well, luckily for Cubs fans, Darvish shared some video of his start on Sunday and he wasn’t lying when he said he’s feeling the best in his career.
Yu Darvish was quite encouraged by his sharp performance vs the White Sox today: “I’m the best right now in my career,” he said. Why? “Because I’m throwing 97, my slider was really good and my split was good, too. That’s the best stuff in my life.” pic.twitter.com/BLHJK8Oq19

Darvish struck out three in two innings and just look at the movement on his pitches.

Keep it up, Yu!
I think a big portion of Cubs fans just view his 2018 season as a guy who lost it and isn’t good anymore. Those fans are going to be in for a big surprise in 2019. Again, it’s pretty clear now. Darvish simply wasn’t healthy last year and now he’s ready to go.
I can’t wait for his comeback season with the Cubs.
