Have yourself a day, Willson Contreras!
The Cubs catcher could not have gotten off to a better start this spring training. Of course, it’s not even March yet, but it’s encouraging to see Contreras demolishing baseballs down in Arizona after his power was sapped in 2018. He crushed his second spring training home run on Wednesday, hitting a ball nearly out of the stadium against his former teammate Jesse Chavez.
This ball was hit a mile and was gone in a hurry.

Contreras just launched one that got out of here in a hurry. Just absolutely crushed to left field. Cubs fans have to hope he can bring that into the regular season. If so, watch out.

Contreras also threw a runner out in the first inning at second base and then picked off a runner at first base in the second inning. That arm already in midseason form.
