Well, at least Wade Davis blew a game in a meaningless exhibition game. After the American League and National League finished nine innings tied at one in the 2017 MLB All-Star Game, Joe Maddon put in the Chicago Cubs closer and Davis promptly gave up a home run to Robinson Cano.
Davis was the only Cubs player selected to this year’s All-Star Game.

First time there’s been a go-ahead home run in extras in the All-Star Game since Tony Perez did it exactly 50 years ago today.

However, I know what Wade Davis was really up to.
Unbelievable how Wade Davis intentionally gave up a home run so that Yadier Molina wouldn't win All-Star Game MVP. Committed to the rivalry.

Sly move, Wade.
And with that the American League won 2-1. Again, no more winner determines home field in the World Series nonsense.
