The Cubs Have Embarrassingly Hilarious Hitting Numbers With The Bases Loaded

Things can get so horribly bad that sometimes you just have to sit there and laugh at the lunacy. Oh hello Cubs offense with the bases loaded, didn’t see you there and LMFAO!

Last week I jokingly tweeted the following, as the Cubs were playing the Cardinals and could not get a hit to save their life with the bases loaded.

The Cubs ended up winning three of five from the Cardinals, getting a couple big hits from Victor Caratini, who for some reason wasn’t intentionally walked to load the bases. Sounds crazy to intentionally load the bases , right?

Well, apparently that’s the Cubs’ kryptonite because they suddenly forget how to hit when they come up with three men on base.

While previewing this past weekend’s series against the White Sox I told one of my co-hosts, (follow him @SouthsideZo) on the Pinwheels and Ivy Podcast that he shouldn’t get nervous at all if the White Sox get into a situation where they face the Cubs with the bases loaded.

Guaranteed zero runs for the Cubs.

Friday in the sixth inning against Dallas Keuchel:

Eighth inning against Keuchel:

Sunday in the fifth inning against Dylan Cease:

Three more chances with the bases loaded against the White Sox, two coming with nobody out, and zero runs scored for the Cubs.

Hilarious.

Not only are the Cubs absolute garbage hitting with the bases loaded this year, but it’s been even more frustrating to watch as fans because they’re getting so many more opportunities compared to the rest of the league.

So yeah, it is bad as you thought. Probably worse than you thought.

It’s so bad that it’s funny. A complete joke because now we dread every time we see the Cubs with the bases loaded, knowing there’s a greater chance they get zero runs than any.
