Less than an hour ago Cubs fans were excited that everyone was finally healthy. Well, fuck us all because now closer Craig Kimbrel is back on the injured list and unlike the first stint this time it does have to do with his pitching arm.
The Cubs are calling it elbow inflammation.
Kimbrel last pitched on Sunday in a non-save situation and his velocity was noticeably down. He allowed a three-run home run to Christian Yelich.
David Bote has been called up and Kimbrel is eligible to return next Thursday.

Seriously, the Cubs lineup was posted 47 minutes before they announced Kimbrel was going on the injured list. The 2019 Cubs were all healthy for 47 minutes.
