South Bend Cubs One Victory Away From Championship After Wild Walk-Off Win

-

Following a 3-1 win on Wednesday the South Bend Cubs blew a 2-1 lead in Game 2 of the Midwest League Championship in the ninth inning against the Clinton LumberKings. However, that set up an exciting walk-off win in the 10th, featuring one of the Cubs’ top prospects.

With two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, Cole Roederer was taking his lead off third base and the Cubs’ number six ranked prospect used his speed to score on a wild pitch that only got a few feet away from the catcher.

South Bend can win the Midwest League title on Saturday, when they head to Clinton, Iowa for Game 3 of the series.
