This is exactly what teams need to do in order to keep this turbulent 2020 MLB season going. After implementing more restrictions following the COVID-19 outbreaks among the Marlins and Cardinals, Cleveland has now shut down two of their starting pitchers after breaking team protocols this past weekend in Chicago.
Zach Plesac’s name was first made public and now it’s Mike Clevinger, who also went out and about Saturday night following Cleveland’s game against the White Sox.
Clevinger has been scratched from Tuesday’s start against the Cubs.
Clevinger has a 3.24 ERA through his first three starts of the season.
Adam Plutko, 28, who will start in place of Clevinger, has a 4.99 ERA in 196.2 innings since breaking into the majors with Cleveland in 2016.
By the way, as more details come out the worse this looks for Clevinger.
He’s also the one who claimed this about accountability…
