All of us picked Shohei Ohtani and it probably took us a combined second to think about the 2023 American League MVP. As long as Ohtani stays healthy, he’ll continue his path to be one of the greatest baseball players in the history of the game. Just like last year, it’s going to take something truly historic to push Ohtani off the mountain top. Oh and he’s in his contract year? Yeah, Ohtani is our pick and he’s also a huge betting favorite.
Shohei Ohtani 2023 MVP Odds
FanDuel: +220
DraftKings: +190

Now, compare Ohtani’s odds with the next five favorites listed in the following sports books.

DraftKings
Mike Trout: +450

I’ll go out on a limb here and say Shohei Ohtani ends up winning American League MVP and Cy Young in 2023 on his way to signing the biggest contract in MLB history in the offseason.
It still is amazing to watch him even though we’ve seen Ohtani for a few years now in MLB. Dude can throw 100mph on the mound and hit 500-foot home runs. Last year, he made 28 starts with the Los Angeles Angels and he posted a 2.33 ERA in 166 innings. Oh and by the way, Ohtani crushed 34 home runs, too, and had an .875 OPS, which was top-10 in MLB.
So yeah, we all feel good about Ohtani as our American League MVP pick.
