MLB Picked the Most Outrageous Replacement for Cubs All-Star

-

Chicago Cubs’ All-Star pitcher Matthew Boyd is starting Saturday afternoon against the New York Yankees and thus will not participate in Tuesday’s All-Star Game in Atlanta. On Friday night, MLB announced his replacement and fans are outraged over the selection.

Maybe what makes it worse is that it’s a pitcher from the Milwaukee Brewers, the Cubs’ hated division rival, but if you thought Paul Skenes starting the 2024 All-Star Game after 11 starts for the National League was bad, then this decision will make you puke. Rookie Jacob Misiorowski was officially added to the 2025 NL All-Star Team after only making five starts with the Brewers.

Misiorowski, 23, made his MLB debut on June 12, against the St. Louis Cardinals and has been great in four of his five starts. But that’s the problem. After five starts he’s already getting the nod over pitchers who have been better for a longer period of time in 2025? This is stupid.

By far the biggest snub in this year’s All-Star selections, especially after Misiorowski’s inclusion, is Philadelphia Phillies’ starting pitcher Christopher Sanchez.

The 28-year-old lefty for the Phillies has a 2.59 ERA in 18 starts in 2025. Sanchez has 116 strikeouts in 107.2 innings pitched. Oh and by the way Sanchez actually has better numbers than Misiorowski in his last five starts, posting a 1.54 ERA with 33 strikeouts and one walk in 35 innings compared to Misiorowski’s 2.81 ERA with 33 strikeouts and 11 walks in 25.2 innings that was apparently good enough to earn the All-Star nomination.

What a fucking clown show. MLB, piss off with this bullshit.

By the way, Michael Busch is the fifth-best hitter in MLB and he’s not an All-Star either. Good stuff.

The Cubs will have a pair of players starting for the National League as Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker will roam the outfield on Tuesday in Atlanta.
