Kyle Schwarber Scratched From Cubs Lineup

-

David Ross rolled out the same exact lineup from Tuesday’s game for today’s series finale against Cleveland, but Kyle Schwarber is a late scratch because of a sore right knee.

During the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game, Schwarber was drilled by a pitch right on the side of his knee. He stayed in and later came around to score on Jason Heyward’s three-run homer, but was eventually pulled for a pinch hitter the next inning.

Schwarber has gotten off to an OK start for the Cubs, slashing .234/.357/.404, but the slugging still hasn’t come around. Definitely hasn’t kept up the great pace from the second half of the 2019 season.

So, Kris Bryant starts in left and David Bote gets in the lineup at third base, while Willson Contreras, Ian Happ and Heyward move up one slot from the original lineup.
