If you watched from first pitch to the very last out of Saturday night’s Cubs game against the Brewers, then you must have experienced every possible emotion. The Cubs offense looked dead once again and after a misplay by Kris Bryant in foul territory Ryan Braun launched a two-run homer in the fourth.
Oh, didn’t know this happened before the HR.

That was all the damage Hendricks allowed in 7.2 innings and it looked like he was going to take another bad loss as the Cubs entered the ninth still being shutout 2-0.
But then Javier Báez lined a one-out single to right field and Anthony Rizzo followed with another off Josh Hader.
That set the scene for Jason Heyward, who on a 1-2 pitch absolutely crushed a 3-run homer to right-center field, giving the Cubs a 3-2 lead.

And in the most 2020 thing ever, newly acquired infielder Ildemaro Vargas went back-to-back and homered to left field because why the hell not!

But it couldn’t be easy, it never is.
Craig Kimbrel, who has been incredible (besides one outing) in his last 10 appearances surrendered two singles to start the bottom of the ninth. However, Kimbrel kept his composure, struck out Daniel Vogelbach, got an out on a ground ball and retired notorious Cubs killer Orlando Arcia on a soft liner to third base to close out the win.
Holy shit, what a rollercoaster.
Seriously, after losing 1-0 and wasting Jon Lester’s best start of the season Friday, this would have been a devastating blow for the Cubs. Instead, not only did they come back on Hader, but the Brewers bullpen should be in bad shape heading into the series finale Sunday. And with these head-to-head matchups, every decision is a two-game swing.
With the 4-2 victory, the Cubs once again moved five games ahead of the Brewers.
Huge win. The most thrilling win. Right now, the biggest win for the Cubs so far in 2020.
