Is That…Is That Tyler Chatwood Looking Absolutely Filthy?!?!

-

Could it be? Is that really Tyler Chatwood not falling behind every batter he faces, throwing strikes and absolutely being filthy?

It might be March 1, but you know what’s better than seeing Chatwood continue to not be good during spring training after his awful 2018 season?

This.

OMG! Look at that movement on that inside cutter. So nasty and so beautiful at the same time.

Chatwood was pretty bad on Sunday in his spring training debut against the Giants. He pitched two innings and was falling behind batters, hit a guy and walked a few.

On Friday, however, Chatwood looked as good as you can hope for, throwing three scoreless innings against the Diamondbacks and most importantly he walked NO ONE!

He struck out three and I am trying really hard not to get ahead of myself, but if Chatwood can find any semblance of consistency with his control, then he might be the biggest surprise of the year.

Chatwood has always had nasty stuff, but obviously the control has been a problem and it led to basically having the yips last year.

But hey, this is a step in the right direction.

Oh and Carl Edwards Jr. made his spring debut and showed off his new delivery too.
