Well, if you were looking for huge moves from the Cubs in November, then you shouldn’t hold your breath. So far they’ve only picked up a couple low-risk, high potential upside pitchers with the latest being left-hander C.D. Pelham from the Rangers.
The 6-foot-6, left-hander throws hard, as his fastball can go up to 100mph. However, Pelham, 24, still hasn’t put it together down in the minors. He made his MLB debut with the Rangers in 2018, appearing in 10 games and struggled in his limited time, 7.04 ERA, 2.09 WHIP, 7 K, 4 BB in 7.2 innings.
Pelham spent the 2019 season pitching at Double-A and Triple-A.
So, good fastball, lefty, get him in the pitching lab, maybe he contributes eventually and then we can all do, “The Taking of Pelham 123,” puns.
