1. The No-Look Tag

This will be the one play that I’ll remember about the 2017 WBC. During the 8th inning of pool play against the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rican catcher (and winner of dumbest neck tattoo) Yadier Molina threw and absolute dart to Baez who was covering second during an attempted steal.

What is so fascinating about this tag is the fact that if you watch it closely, Baez isn’t even looking at the Dominican runner because he already knew he was dead in his tracks.

Puerto Rico would go on to win the game handing the Dominican team their first loss since 2006.

Baez has become famous in the world of baseball for his lightning quick tags around the base paths so the no-look tag against the Dominicans was just another highlight to add to the following reel.

Now that the WBC is over, Javy will rejoin the defending champion Chicago Cubs as they begin their journey to defend their World Series championship.

I can almost guarantee that we’ll see a few more of these “Javy moments” during the 2017 season.
