Patrick Kane Is Doing Things That He’s Never Done Before

-

As crazy as it sounds, Blackhawks’ star winger, Patrick Kane, has not hit his ceiling yet. Kane is off to the best start of his 12-year career.

Let’s take a closer look at Patrick Kane’s hot start this season. Through 10 games, Kane currently has 14 points (9G, 5A).

Patrick Kane Does Not Get Enough Credit

Throughout his entire 12-year NHL career, Patrick Kane has been putting up points in bunches. He has done this in spite of never playing with steady linemates. Prepare to have your minds absolutely blown to smithereens.

Here’s the breakdown of the line combinations since Patrick Kane’s rookie season in 2007-08. During the regular season only, Kane has played on 2,355 different lines. During the playoffs only, Kane has played on 678 different lines. Overall, he has played on a whopping total of 3,033 different line combinations in the NHL. No, that is not a typo.

Any way you look at it, Patrick Kane is a phenomenal talent who excels despite never having any consistency to work with. For a more detailed breakdown, make sure to check out the awesome Dobber’s Frozen Tools website!

Patrick Kane Is Not Slowing Down

Let’s take a minute to analyze just how much hockey Patrick Kane has played in his career. In 12 seasons, Kane has played a total of 832 regular season games, 127 playoff games, plus Olympics and international play. Despite all of the hockey that he has played, Kane is not slowing down one bit. I tip my hat to him and give him all of the credit in the world.

Kane is currently 29 years old and will turn 30 on November 19th. You wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at him. He’s been red hot through 10 games and clutch in crunch time this season. So far, Kane has racked up 2 GWG’s and 1 PPG. He is also shooting at a 17% clip, which is a career high.

What Next For Patrick Kane and the Blackhawks?

Tonight, the Blackhawks faceoff against division rival, St. Louis Blues, for the 3rd time this season already. The Blackhawks have had an answer for the Blues in both games, as they won both in OT. Kane has had the Blues number this season. He has 3 points (2G, 1A) in their previous 2 matchups. Let’s see if this positive trend can continue.

Corey Crawford will be starting in net tonight for the second straight game. Crawford has been lights out since he returned from his lengthy concussion.

I can say, without any hesitation, that these are elite numbers and Crawford is officially back. As long as the Blackhawks have Crawford in net and Kane on the ice, then they always have a great shot to win a hockey game.

This team has surprised the hell out of me, and I’m sure you feel the same as well. If they keep performing at the rate that they have been during the past 10 games, then I truly believe the Blackhawks are going places this season. We could even see them make a playoff appearance if everything continues to go right for them. In the meantime, let’s see if these positive trends can continue and let’s take things one game at a time.
