VIDEO: Aaron Rodgers Isn’t Having A Fun Time In Washington

-

The Green Bay Packers don’t look like the team they’ve been for the past three years. Everybody expected them to continue dominating the NFC North and being a Super Bowl favorite. Now they’re 3-3 and floundering. Much of that has to do with the struggles of their quarterback. Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been able to get the passing game going for weeks, making it look more and more like Davante Adams was the true driving force behind that offensive success.

A perfect microcosm of this newfound hell came in Washington. After taking a 14-3 lead in the game, the Commanders narrowed the gap to 14-10. Then during one play on their next drive, Aaron Jones took a handoff to the left. Washington swarmed the ball, forcing him to reverse direction back. Suddenly Rodgers was in a position to give his teammate a block. It went about as well as you’d expect.

Aaron Rodgers can’t hide this time.

He finished the first half with 47 yards passing. Total. He hasn’t had 300 yards in a game this season. It is painfully evident this Packers passing attack lost a ton of steam during the off-season. Adams is gone. The players brought in to replace him haven’t been able to fill the void. Worse still, the offensive line is banged up. All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari still hasn’t fully recovered from the knee injury that sidelined him over a year ago.

This looks nothing like the team that was mere minutes away from the Super Bowl just two years ago. It is a grim reminder of how fast things can go downhill. Aaron Rodgers has been frustrated with the front office for a long time due to their unwillingness to invest more heavily in the wide receivers. Now they’re getting a feature-length film on why that is. It wouldn’t be shocking if Rodgers retires after 2022, leaving the team with zero certainties for the first time in decades.

They say once you start thinking about/talking about retirement, you are basically mentally retired. I think Aaron has checked out and is mentally retired. He is frustrated, he’s taking a bit of a beating this year, and he doesn’t look like a man who wants to put his body through this anymore. Especially if the team around him is not super bowl ready.

And this, THIS is what makes Chicago sports fans so utterly pathetic. Year after year after decade they support the most pathetic non winning teams, whose owners don’t even try to get better because they know the meatball fans will keep buying tickets even if they go winless. So now ur reduced to cheering on that ANOTHER team, not the Bears mind you, but another team, is beating the Packers now that Aaron Rodgers is finally almost 40 after owning the Bears for the past 15 years.
