Charles Leno Jr. has endured one of the wildest career swings a Chicago Bears left tackle has ever had. In 2018, he delivered his best season with a Pro Bowl nod and career-low six penalties surrendered along with being one of their best run blockers. He was also reliable in pass protection. It seems everything changed rapidly for him this year. Not only did he commit the fourth-most penalties of any player in the NFL with 13, his pass protection was leaky all year long.
One person who was on Leno’s case that entire time was Phil Ottochian, a member of the popular Bears Barroom Radio Network. He produced a weekly YouTube video series called “The Tape Never Lies” covering every Bears game of 2019. One of his constant punching bags was Leno for repeated mistakes that cost the team valuable opportunities. The animosity reached such an extent that Ottochian and his colleagues created a music video about the Bears left tackle.
Suffice to say? It’s not exactly kind.
