The Alan Williams Absence From Bears Just Took A Dark Turn

-

There is so much drama happening around the Chicago Bears right now. Justin Fields just threw offensive coordinator Luke Getsy under the bus for his struggles. Reports persist of many higher up in the organization being frustrated with head coach Matt Eberflus. This has made it easy to forget that the team’s defensive coordinator, Alan Williams, mysteriously remains absent. He departed last week in unknown circumstances. Eberflus wasn’t inclined to divulge any details, merely stating that he was taking over play-calling duties on defense.

Now the next week has started. Chicago is preparing for a visit to Kansas City. Yet Williams remains MIA. Eberflus was again asked about the coordinator’s status. The head coach declined to comment. It was here that Bill Zimmerman of Windy City Gridiron offered an update. While details remain unclear, his credible sources indicate whatever is going on with Williams has nothing to do with his coaching. Whatever it is, it seems to be bad enough that there is a strong possibility he never returns to the team.

Alan Williams has been a total disaster.

Not only did he coordinate the worst defense in the NFL last season, but now it looks like he is making an abrupt exit from the team on some dark terms. One can only speculate how bad the situation is. It’s clearly an off-the-field issue. Perhaps it was a domestic dispute. Or maybe he’s in trouble with the law, which might explain the team’s unusual silence on the matter. Whatever the case, Williams finds himself in the area of Mel Tucker-bad among the history of Bears defensive coordinators.

He probably won’t be the last one out the door when this season ends. Eberflus himself is already on the hot seat. His 3-16 record is the worst a Bears head coach has ever had, and it doesn’t figure to improve after this weekend in Kansas City. His team is in total disarray. The defense still sucks, and there’s a rift between his quarterback and offensive coordinator. It’s incredible to think Alan Williams isn’t the biggest story with this team. That could change if the details of his departure ever come to light.

If what I have read is true Warren has to get rid of Poles and the entire coaching staff. This is starting to look like the Penn State disaster.

I just read that Halas Hall and Williams’ house have been raided by authorities (not sure which ones).

Enough. Don’t wait. This is Trestman level, dumpster fire, total melt down. Time to immediately fire Poles, Eberflus, and the whole coaching staff. This is getting really toxic, really quick. Clean house!

Kevin Warren needs to clean house and fire all these bums. I believe he’s the best hire that the Bears have ever made for any position. Starting with Ryan “The Narcissist” Poles. Make the GM and staff his people.
