Sideline Drama: DJ Moore Seen Taking a Shot at Caleb Williams in Latest Comments

-

Through two games, it’s clear that the Chicago Bears offense has had a rough start. In their latest game on national TV, the Bears defense managed to hold the Houston Texans to just 19 points. However, the Bears offense failed to capitalize on this performance. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams struggled with accuracy, but it’s hard to place too much blame on him given the poor performance of the Bears offensive line throughout the game. The Bears attempted 37 passes, and the Texans got pressure on 36 of those plays. Kind of unreal when you think about it.

Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter combined for 17 pressures. It was a tough night for Caleb Williams. But somehow it got even worse. Late in the fourth quarter, after another poor throw from Williams, DJ Moore was seen walking off the sideline visibly frustrated. The NFL camera crew captured Moore saying something to backup QB Tyson Bagent.

Lip reading can be tricky, but this instance seems quite clear to me. DJ appears to have said either “Dawg, he can’t do it!” or, as Ivan suggested, “Dawg, I need you” to Bagent. Regardless of the exact words, the interaction doesn’t look promising for Caleb Williams, who had a tough time throwing deep all night. Williams went 0-for-7 with two interceptions on passes traveling at least 15 yards downfield, and all seven attempts were off target. The offensive line likely plays a significant role in this, but seeing DJ Moore visibly frustrated after just two games is not a good sign.

On Monday morning, during an interview on 670 The Score, DJ Moore was asked about these comments, and here’s what he had to say:

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

“I was just saying (to Tyson Bagent) what did he see on the play? That was it.”

I usually trust DJ Moore, but I’m not convinced by his answer this time because the video evidence just doesn’t match up.

@Dr. Steven Sallie you are THE most annoying of the trolls. I’ve always enjoyed reading and responding in the comments. Now that you are here, it kind of sucks tbh. Please, go smash all of your fingers in the door. Most of us would all love a break from Dr. Woke Psychotic Sally.

@Hehateme30 One (of several) problems with what you’re saying is that the game against Houston is over. It was a winnable game that the Bears lost, and they’re not getting the opportunity to stack that win back. Say Caleb’s performance starts to reflect his draft status after week 4, like Eberflus said it would. That’s a quarter of the season up in smoke. Say it takes a bit longer, because these guys get a little wiggle room. Then we’re looking at half of the season pissed away by QB1 getting up to speed or however you want to phrase it.… Read more »

@Pure Ugly Hate 30 Again what if you happen to be correct? What’s it to you? You don’t own this site. Are you a cop? And stop mocking my man, Eric: “I’m waiting for the man. I got $26 dollars in my hand. I’m always early and he’s always late. The first thing you learn is that you always got to wait.”

@Ralph Law Keep up your accurately critical analysis when deemed appropriate and you might be able to join the open-minded male lions for protection against the authoritarian male hyenas. Whereas they demand conformity at any cost, we only desire truth, progress, and justice leading to a Superbowl victory.
