After a violent collision last week against Tennessee, it was revealed Rome Odunze suffered a knee injury. An MRI showed it was an MCL sprain. That was good news because it wasn’t season-ending. However, the typical outcome for this would be missed 1-3 weeks. Everybody expected Odunze would at least miss the upcoming game in Houston against the Texans. It wasn’t ideal, but it could’ve been worse. Well, apparently, people might’ve made their assumptions too quickly.
The final injury report arrived on Friday. This usually gives people a clear sense of who will or won’t play. Right guard Ryan Bates and fullback Khari Blasingame will both be out. Keenan Allen is questionable with a heel issue despite not practicing all week. Yet, by far, the biggest shock was Odunze also being questionable. The rookie practiced in a limited fashion, a major step forward after missing Wednesday and Thursday. This may indicate the young receiver is pushing to play.
Rome Odunze remains a fierce competitor.
Don’t forget that he tried playing after he suffered the injury last Sunday. Reports said the knee felt fine after the game. It wasn’t until a day later that he felt some tenderness. He decided to speak with trainers as a precaution, leading to the MRI. The widespread expectation was that he would sit this week and be re-evaluated for next week against Indianapolis. Letting him practice on Friday, followed by Matt Eberflus’ statement that it would be a game-time decision, indicates Rome Odunze is pushing to play. That is hardly surprising, given his reputation. His presence would be a big help if he does play.
The odds makers have the Bears 6.5 underdogs to the Texans. I think Texas is overrated. Then you look at the Falcons 6.5 underdogs going into Philly. For number one I think the Eagles are better than the Texans and number 2 I think the Bears are better than the Falcons. I don’t bet much but I’m thinking on throwing a chunk of change in on the Bears.
Out of all our draft picks this past draft – UNO is number one. He will be great. Watch his tape – just go watch. It’s his destiny.
Dudes an alpha wr, not a diva wr. He wants to play 100%.
Rome be a Bear like Butkus, not a pussy cat like Davis. Play through the pain and win against the Texans. It is commanded.
