Mitch Trubisky has kept a low profile for the past month, not wanting to rock the boat after the Chicago Bears chose to bench him in favor of Nick Foles. Proof again that he remains a class act and a great teammate. It’s little wonder a lot of guys are loyal to him. Including former players. Kyle Long being one and Zach Miller is another.
Trubisky and Miller have been tight ever since the quarterback was drafted in 2017. The tight end said on multiple occasions he loves the kid and believes he has a bright future in the NFL. One can imagine he wasn’t too thrilled when head coach Matt Nagy chose to pull the plug in Week 3 despite Trubisky having gone 2-1 to that point.
Was it fair? He wouldn’t think so.
Either way, that hasn’t changed the relationship between the two. They seem as tight as ever. Apparently, they got together this Halloween for some sort of festivities. How do we know? Courtesy of a video tweet from Miller himself. It’s of him donning a Michael Myers Halloween mask standing in a garage.
A few seconds later it becomes clear it’s Trubisky’s garage. The quarterback isn’t aware of Miller’s presence at first. When he finally realizes what is happening? Well, the reaction is 100% priceless.

Mitch Trubisky must not be a Halloween fan
For a 26-year old professional athlete, that reaction is as good as it gets. A classic “NOPE” style moment from Trubisky. It seems he isn’t the biggest fan of the Halloween franchise. The Myers mask might be the most iconic in the history of horror films and maybe the holiday in general. To think it’s just a William Shatner mask spraypainted white.
Credit to Miller for knowing exactly how to approach his QB to get the maximum results. If only the video was a little bit less grainy. It would’ve been an all-timer in HD. Not that Bears fans aren’t grateful for this piece of levity in difficult times.
Halloween is about scares but also fun.
As for what the future holds? Nobody can guess that for sure. Trubisky remains the backup for the time being. This despite a lot of fans already clamoring for his return as Foles continues to struggle behind an undermanned offensive line. It feels like an injury could be right around the corner. He still could see the field again before too long.
Barring that? It feels like Trubisky’s time in Chicago is winding down. He is a free agent next spring. Unless something crazy happens, the Bears won’t be bringing him back. That means he’ll begin his search for the next opportunity to become a starter. The kid is still talented. He just never quite grasped the intricacies of the position. Nagy’s offense proved a bad fit for him.
Perhaps a fresh start elsewhere could reinvigorate his career. It wouldn’t be the first time that happened to a former top pick. Then again there is no predicting anything with this team.
