Chicago Bears To Provide An In-Depth Look At Justin Fields

The Chicago Bears already did some cool things by reviving their 1920 Football Drive series on YouTube after it was so well-received last season. However, the team isn’t content with just that. It seems they have plans to continue another popular series in “Meet The Rookies.” This allows the team to do some in-depth work on their incoming draft class. Longtime play-by-play announcer Jeff Joniak will interview each pick and fans will get a peek at what makes each of them tick.

There is no shortage of memorable moments from this series. David Montgomery declaring he doesn’t believe in pressure. Pressure only makes him stronger. Just like a diamond. Or how Jaylon Johnson felt personally affronted by being the 50th pick in the draft and aims to make every other team in the NFL pay for passing on him. One can only imagine what the excitement will be like for this year.

After all, there’s a new quarterback in town.

Justin Fields has been the focus of the entire offseason for the Bears since he arrived back in April. Hardly a surprise. Chicago is thirstier for a quarterback than any other fanbase in existence. For the first time in decades, it genuinely feels like the Bears got this one right. Fields checks every box. Big, strong, tough, fast, smart, and a winner. There isn’t anything he can’t do on a football field. This is a talent that can put an entire franchise on his shoulders.

Fans have eaten up anything and everything he’s done this offseason. So just imagine the views that will flow in when he gets a chance to talk with Joniak.

Other Chicago Bears rookies will get some spotlight too

This draft class certainly doesn’t lack interesting personalities. Second round pick Teven Jenkins was a mauler in college and has a growing reputation for shenanigans on Twitter. Wide receiver Dazz Newsome (6th rounder out of North Carolina) quickly established himself as a folk hero with his demand for more Waffle Houses in the Chicagoland area. There’s African-born Khalil Herbert, sibling-competitive Thomas Graham Jr., and bowling ball nose tackle Khyiris Tonga.

It isn’t certain whether the Chicago Bears will cover the entire rookie class this year. They only did three prospects last season. However, with proximity to them restored thanks to the easing of COVID restrictions? Maybe fans will get bonus content. One thing is for sure. Fields figures to be front and center. Something that won’t anger anybody. Given how things have gone so far, it’s a safe bet he’ll knock it out of the park.

Training camp begins in just over a week.

One can expect both this series and 1920 Football Drive to return around that time. Both will need footage from practices in order to move forward after all. So fans are going to be spoiled with all sorts of fun content going into next month. It’ll be interesting if they decide to include the preseason as well. Especially since Fields figures to see a lot of action during that three-week stretch.
