Every year, pundits put out “draft grades.” This year Aaron Donald retired. Donald was considered a “small” DT out of Pittsburgh with a “high motor.” That’s it. The Bears had the pick following Donald, and they took Kyle Fuller. Jadeveon Clowney was the first pick, followed by Greg Robinson, Blake Bortles and Sammy Watkins. Khalil Mack was taken 5th but was a stretch because he came from Buffalo. “Getting it right” is the first step, closely followed by “knowing how to take care of, and get the most out of, your assets.” People think that drafting is an “inexact” science,… Read more »

Patting yourself on the back for getting guys.
What they NEED to get an “A” grade, is coaching 2/5 of that group from “physically gifted,” to “Dominant.”

Sorry, I loved the Odunze and Booker picks. But every draft is an “Incomplete” for at least two years. You have to see how these kids develop as NFL players.

Now is the time for patience. That is for the kids you personally wanted, and especially for the kids you did not. Just take deep breath and let them develop, or fail to develop, as their own talent and personalities dictate.

They’re all Bears now, so we all hope for their success.

When you add in the trades in FA prior to the draft, this may very well be the best draft by any team in 24. R Poles addressed the most pressing needs on offense with great clarity and patience. The result is easy to see, this unit will be scary strong and exceptionally difficult to stop from scoring even with CW being a rookie. I believe T Bagent could make a solid run to the playoffs with this current roster, it is that strong.

With all intents and purposes, Poles did a nice job. Sometimes the person making the decisions has to just be logical about it. Don’t overthink it! The previous regime wrecked Justin Fields, by trying to re-engineer his mechanics. It would have been nice if they attempted to bring in just a little bit of help for their new quarterback. The present management team recognizes that it’s best not to try to re-engineer anything about Caleb Williams, just get him a supporting cast and let him be himself which caused him to win the Heisman trophy and go number one in… Read more »
