The Chicago Bears have never been shy about making trades. GM Ryan Poles will do whatever he feels necessary for the good of his organization. If that means acquiring a big name? Fine. He’s also not afraid to unload them, too, when the situation warrants it. Ask Roquan Smith. For that reason, it wouldn’t be wise to state that every notable name on the Bears’ roster is safe. It appears there is a strong undercurrent of buzz that wide receiver DJ Moore is somebody to watch as the league prepares for training camp next month.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN speculated that the 28-year-old could be floating out there on the market after the Bears selected Rome Odunze and Luther Burden in the past two drafts. Analysts of other teams already believe there is a quiet push out there to see if the Bears will bite. Paul Esden covers the Jets and believes this offer would get it done.
Chicago receives: a 2027 third-rounder
New York receives: wide receiver DJ Moore
Fowler speculated that a third-rounder could be parlayed into a trade for a veteran pass catcher. Moore, 28, has five years remaining on his $110 million contract.
With all due respect, the Bears have zero reasons to unload their most productive wide receiver for a 3rd round pick, especially with Burden being unproven.
Trading DJ Moore doesn’t make the Bears better.
The only way they would consider this idea is if he were becoming a locker room issue or if he was getting older and his production dropped. Neither has been a major concern. While his numbers dipped last season, that was more about the team’s ugly offensive scheme and dealing with a rookie quarterback. DJ Moore did have some occasional body language moments that weren’t great, but he never let them spiral into something serious. He’s still a good player who can help the Bears win. Unloading him for a draft pick with low odds of ever panning out is bad business. The Jets or somebody else would have to vie for somebody less proven or up their offer. Until then, Moore will remain a focal point of the offense, as he should.

@Dr Sallie,I have not seen one rumor suggesting they bring back Allen and then DJ could be traded. DJ is clearly one of the best second tier WR’s in the league. He’s not in the Chase, Jefferson, Hill class but after the top 5 or6, he fits in that next group. You don’t trade those guys just because you drafted someone in 2nd round so these rumors are based on silly, unsubstantiated guesses by talking heads that need to produce more methane gas out of their mouths You have every right to “not be sure” about Caleb. He’s had just… Read more »
Suggesting and advocating are two different things, Dufus.
This trade rumor is literally quite laughable. DJ for a 3rd round pick. Um…go scratch. Lets put this rumor to rest…DJ isn’t going anywhere and will continue to be a Bear for the foreseeable future. End of story.

Kris, there are two interconnected rumors out there as memes: trade Moore and resign Allen. I would not support this, but I am not sure about Caleb.
