Joe Maddon Blows Up On Umpires, Gets Ejected

-

Joe Maddon wasn’t in the dugout to watch the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds on a walk-off wild pitch because he was ejected after arguing with umpires earlier in the ninth inning.

Maddon was beside himself after Ben Zobrist got hit by a pitch, but was ruled to be attempting a bunt, thus strike two was called. Maddon raced out of the dugout and was giving it to everyone.

Zobrist eventually moved the runners to second and third, following a slow roller to third base. That set up the two-out, walk-off wild pitch.

It looked like Maddon made contact with one of the umpires, so he might have to serve a suspension for that. We’ll see.

He still couldn’t believe the call after the game either.
