There have been more than 20,000 players to ever reach the big leagues in MLB and on Friday Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong accomplished something that only four other players in the league’s history has ever done.
Crow-Armstrong went 4-for-5, with a home run and six RBI, leading the Cubs to a 13-3 win over the White Sox at Wrigley Field. Thanks to his big performance PCA is now one of five players in MLB history to get to the following milestones through the first 45 games of a season: 12 home runs, 13 stolen bases, 36 RBI.
Absolutely incredible.
It’s also crazy to think just how good his numbers have gotten to at this point of the season because through the first couple weeks of the year PCA was not providing much at the plate. In his first 73 plate appearances of the 2025 season Crow-Armstrong slashed .197/.264/.258, with no home runs.
Yet, from April 13 through May 16, PCA has been the fourth-best hitter among all qualified MLB hitters.
Pete Crow-Armstrong’s Stats Since April 13
.333/.354/.750
1.104 OPS
201 wRC+
12 Home Runs
31 RBI
23 R
During this month+ hot streak Crow-Armstrong is tied with Shohei Ohtani for most home runs among all players, AL and NL.
Overall in 2025, PCA ranks in the top-5 in several offensive categories among NL hitters.
Pete Crow-Armstrong NL Rankings (Through May 16)
12 HR: t-5th
36 RBI: t-3rd
34 R: t-4th
13 SB: t-3rd
Oh and by the way PCA is also currently rated as the best defensive player in MLB. Not only in center field, not among all outfielders, not only in the National League, Pete Crow-Armstrong is the best defender in the game right now. Elite base runner, too.
Special player. Enjoy it Cubs fans.
