The Chicago Bears will make their last stand on Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers. It’s rather fitting it ended up this way. Their seasons have always been defined by what they do against their longtime rivals. The constant failure to get past the Packers remains the biggest story of this past decade. Now Matt Nagy will try to get his second victory against them since taking over in 2018.
Nobody believes that will happen. Not with Green Bay coming off a bye week, being at home, and still having Aaron Rodgers. However, there is at least one bit of good news for Nagy. He will have perhaps the healthiest rosters he’s had in at least a month. Perhaps longer. According to the latest Bears injury report, only two of their players are expected to not play on Sunday. Quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin. Everybody else is either questionable or a full go.
That includes Akiem Hicks and Allen Robinson.

Getting those two back is huge for the Bears. Hicks has nursed groin and ankle injuries for the past several weeks, missing multiple games. Having him back should be an immediate boost to the team’s run defense. An area that has struggled quite a bit this year. As for Robinson, he suffered a hamstring strain in the loss to Pittsburgh. Not having him has really hurt a Chicago Bears passing attack that was already lacking bite.

So at least Justin Fields will have some decent options as he makes his own return from three cracked ribs. Green Bay doesn’t figure to care much. Their defense has controlled this rivalry for years and will keep doing so until the Bears prove differently. Could Sunday night end up being a surprise? Nobody knows. Still, it’s nice to see the team may actually have the horses to give it a try.
