Robert And Grandal Are Back But Another White Sox Star Gets The Day Off vs. Cubs

-

The White Sox took care of business, sweeping a four-game series at home against the Tigers to extend their winning streak to five games on Thursday. They enter Friday night’s series against the Cubs at 15-11, and will welcome back two key players to the lineup.

Veteran catcher Yasmani Grandal hasn’t played since Monday, when he was taken out because of a stiff back. Yet, after taking some swings in the cage he’s good to go and will bat second against Jon Lester tonight.

White Sox rookie Luis Robert missed the final two games of the Detroit series after hurting his right hand on a diving catch attempt. The short rest appears to have paid off, as Robert is back in the lineup.

However, it’s White Sox third baseman Yoán Moncada who won’t face Lester. Instead, Rick Renteria is giving him the day off and replacing Moncada with Ryan Goins at third base.

With a left-handed pitcher starting for the Cubs, Adam Engel gets the start in right field over Nomara Mazara.
