I mean, after this week’s performance it was pretty obvious that Kyle Hendricks is in the zone right now and he has more than earned the right to be the Cubs 2020 Opening Day starter.
David Ross made it official Thursday, naming Hendricks the starter for the Cubs’ first game of the season next Friday against the Brewers. Yu Darvish will follow.
This will be Hendricks’ first Opening Day nod and it’s more than deserved for one of the most underrated pitchers in all of baseball.
