Hey, remember Sam Fuld? Yeah you do.

The former Cubs, Rays, A’s and Twins player has been working for the Phillies for the past couple years and his name has surfaced in the past few weeks to potentially interview for open manager positions.

Fuld, 37, is still Philadelphia’s Major League player information coordinator, basically relaying information from the Phillies analytics department to the clubhouse. It turns out that the Cubs, among other teams, wanted to interview Fuld for their manager vacancy, but the ex-MLB outfielder is declining interviews, according to MLBTR.

The Mets and Pirates were also reportedly interested in meeting with Fuld.

Fuld played in eight MLB seasons, starting his big league career with the Cubs in 2007. He last played for the A’s in 2015.

The Cubs reportedly interviewed Astros bench coach Joe Espada on Monday and have an interview scheduled with Gabe Kapler later this week. David Ross is still seen as the favorite to become the next Cubs manager.
