Before Reynaldo López dominated the Tigers on Sunday, the White Sox announced that right-handed reliever Ryan Burr was placed on the 10-day injured list with inflammation in his shoulder.
Even before that, the White Sox also placed righty Nate Jones on the injured list along with rookie outfielder Eloy Jiménez. Replacing them were two pitchers, Aaron Bummer and Thyago Vieira.
So, today the White Sox announced who would be replacing Burr. The winner is!

Overall in his MLB career, Covey has pitched in 47 games, making 33 starts. He’s thrown 193 innings, posting a 6.11 ERA and 1.56 WHIP.
Since he was demoted to Triple-A after only two appearances with the White Sox this season, Covey’s only allowed four earned runs in 14.1 innings. (2.51 ERA)
