Joe Maddon came out with the team trainer to check on Jon Lester in the third inning after looking off on the mound. Lester stayed in, but after giving up a second hit he was taken out and replaced by Brad Brach.
That followed a six-run second inning by the Cubs, who scored all six times with two outs. Lester came through with an RBI-double after an error and intentional walk to Jason Heyward to begin the rally.

Lester later came around to score on another error and that’s maybe wear he got injured.

The Cubs say Lester departed from the game because of tightness in his left hamstring.

Hopefully it’s nothing big. And hey, watching pitchers get hits is fun, but what’s even more fun is not watching pitchers get hurt running the bases. Give me the DH ASAP in the National League.
