REPORT: White Sox Pitching Prospect Dane Dunning Dealing With Another Arm Injury

-

The White Sox have been extremely unlucky when it comes to their top prospects dealing with injuries and slowing down their development. Now, they’re dealing with another injury scare, as 670 The Score’s Bruce Levine is reporting that right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning is dealing with a forearm issue.

Levine goes on to say that Dunning is being evaluated by the team’s medical staff, but that the extent of the injury is unknown at the moment.

Dunning is ranked 80th overall in MLB Pipeline’s top-100 list for 2019. In 2018, Dunning pitched at Single and Double-A, throwing a total of 86.1 innings at both stops. He recorded a 2.71 ERA and 1.19 WHIP, but after 15 starts the White Sox shut him down after discovering an elbow sprain.

Dunning was traded to the White Sox back in 2016, when Adam Eaton was dealt to the Nationals for Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez and Dunning.
