The White Sox haven’t had much success this year, as they are 7-22 on the season. This combined with coming off a 120+ loss season doesn’t excite the fans, as the White Sox have done nothing but lose over the last few seasons. However, there is a bit of hope in the minor leagues, as there were some interesting promotions over the last few days.
The first is pitcher Tyler Schweitzer, who was promoted from AA to AAA and Ian Eskridge was one of the first to report it.
Tyler Schweitzer has been promoted to AAA Charlotte.

Schweitzer got off to a great start in AA, as he had 10 scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts compared to just four walks. His AAA debut didn’t go as planned, but he still struck out five batters over 4.1 innings. Once Schweitzer gets settled in at AAA, watch out for a promotion to Chicago to let him start some games.
Schweitzer wasn’t the only move, as the Knights were busy adding players to their roster.
ROSTER MOVES: Prior to the start of tonight's game vs. Norfolk, the Charlotte Knights have made the following roster moves:
– INF Josh Rojas begins ML rehab assignment in Charlotte
– OF Oscar Colas sent from Birmingham to Charlotte
– P Wikelman Gonzalez sent from Birmingham to…— Charlotte Knights (@KnightsBaseball) April 29, 2025
Most notably, Wikelman Gonzalez was promoted from AA to AAA. This is a great sign, as he was the lone pitcher acquired in the Garrett Crochet trade. Gonzalez has yet to make his AAA debut, but he struck out 21 batters in just 16 innings this season in AA. Like Schweitzer, I would not be surprised to see Gonzalez making starts at some point this year in Chicago.
Another prospect in the Crochet trade was recently promoted, as Braden Montgomery has made his way to Winston-Salem from Kannapolis. So far Montgomery has shown that the promotion is not an issue, as he is already 4 for 8 with two RBIs through his first two games.
Montgomery was not the only prospect to make his way to Winston-Salem, as Jordan Sprinkle also earned a promotion. Sprinkle was on a tear in A-ball, as he was hitting .420 with 20 stolen bases over 16 games with the Cannon Ballers.
While the product on the field in Chicago is currently not great, there have been some significant developments and promotions in the minor leagues that should turn into contributions in Chicago shortly.
The fact there’s NO comments yet says it all … most of the players are dreadful and Getz if not the worst GM in MLB, isn’t far from it. This guy complains about how players come and go and HE WAS IN CHARGE OF THE MINOR LEAGUES, what a goof!!!
