As we finish up the first month of minor league baseball, the White Sox farm system has looked very good so far. The White Sox top prospects have all put in good performances to start the year, and some of the lesser known players are starting to make a name for themselves.
This is a good sign for the White Sox, as the farm system will likely be ranked in the top-10 in the next update, which may or may not include their future number one selection, who will likely be considered a top-10 prospect in baseball.
With that, we will check on each minor league affiliate to see which players are off to a good start in the 2026 season. Here, we take a look at the Winston-Salem Dash, the High-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
Colby Shelton
The first player who’s off to a good start to the year for the Dash is Colby Shelton. Shelton was selected in the 6th round of last year’s draft out of Florida.

Now, in his first full minor league season, he is hitting .388 with an amazing .484 on base percentage. He’s added six home runs, 23 RBIs, and four stolen bases. These are amazing numbers and he looks like an absolute steal in the sixth round. With this type of production, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets promoted to Birmingham sooner rather than later.
Kyle Lodise
The next player we will take a look at is Kyle Lodise, who is off to one of the more intriguing starts to the year. Lodise, a shortstop, was taken in the third round in last year’s draft out of Georgia Tech after a very productive collegiate career.

On the season, he is only hitting .176, but he has an insane .447 on base percentage. This is a pretty strange stat line, because if he were hitting .220, his OBP would be close to .500, which would be absolutely insane. It’s only a matter of time before he starts to hit, as he was a very productive college player, so watch out for that when he does.
Gabe Davis
On the pitching side, Gabe Davis is off to a nice start. Davis was selected in the 5th round of last year’s draft out of Oklahoma State. Davis is certainly a presence on the mound, as he stands at six feet, nine inches tall.
Gabe Davis took the nightcap of the doubleheader for the #Dash. He goes his normal 3 innings and allows 1R/0ER on 2BB. Davis strikes out 3 on 23k/39p. He does not factor in the decision of the 13-1 Winston-Salem rout of the Burgers. They take the series 4-2. pic.twitter.com/7I23rnGss5

Similar to other prospects in the system, he seems to be on an innings limit, as he has started four games, but has only pitched 12 innings. However, he has looked very good in those starts, as he has a 1.50 ERA, striking out nine batters. He also has a very good 1.000 WHIP.
The Dash have a ton of exciting players from last year’s draft that will look to move quickly through the system and be worth following on their journey to Chicago.
