The White Sox opened the season up with six players on the MLB Pipeline top-100 prospects list, which put them among the best in the league. Now, with a few of those players making significant contributions in Chicago, that number has fluctuated.
To start the season, Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith, Braden Montgomery, Colson Montgomery, Kyle Teel, and Edgar Quero were all ranked on the MLB Pipeline top-100 list. Teel and Quero have recently graduated off that list, and while Colson fell off the list for a while, he made his way back on it.
With those graduations, the number dropped to four top-100 prospects, but as of July 27th, a new name has officially made it on the MLB Pipeline list, bringing the total to five.

With the graduation of Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski, 2024 second round pick Caleb Bonemer has now officially made his way onto the top-100 list. This is well deserved, as he got off to a fantastic start in 2025, his first professional season.
To this point in the season, Bonemer is hitting .259 with a .385 OBP. He has added eight homeruns, 44 RBIs, and 23 stolen bases. If that wasn’t good enough, he is a 19 year old that is over a year younger than the average player in A-ball with an .808 OPS.

For his first professional season, you couldn’t ask for a better start. This was a great pick in the second round for the White Sox, as now he is on the national radar.
Bonemer is a legitimate 20/20 threat, as he has also played very good defense this season between third and shortstop. At this point, he is likely on pace for a 15/30 season, which is still very impressive considering it’s his first professional season.
There is a chance that Bonemer will get some at-bats in Winston-Salem with a promotion soon, as there will be some movement in A-ball with the addition of players from the 2025 draft class. This will be key for Bonemer, as he will likely spend a decent chunk of his 2026 season with the Dash.
Since Bonemer was a prep bat in last year’s draft, he is still a few years away from making any contribution in the major leagues. However, if he continues to play well next year, there is a chance that he sets himself up for his major league debut at some point in 2027.
The White Sox suddenly have some very interesting bats in the farm system, after desperately needing some for years. With Bonemer and new addition Billy Carlson, the White Sox will have plenty of intrigue in the lower minor leagues.
