WATCH: Patrick Beverley With An All-Time Troll On LeBron James

-

Returning from injury sooner than expected, LeBron James was abruptly met with the Chicago Bulls, one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Patrick Beverley, who was cut by the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this season, was playing his first game against his former team since their split. Both clubs were 7-3 in their last ten and are surging in the Play-In standings. After a back-and-forth game mainly controlled by Chicago’s outside shooting and bench-scoring effort, Beverley put the icing on the cake with a two-point shot over James to push the Bulls’ lead to ten with 72 seconds left in the game. What he did after that will quickly become one of the NBA’s most iconic memes for years.

Unexpected Dominant Duo

After Nikola Vucevic was ejected due to two technical fouls within 30 seconds of one another in a questionable exchange between him and the referee crew, Andre Drummond’s number was called. For a reserve center averaging 12 minutes per contest in his 61 appearances this year and Anthony Davis playing some of the best basketball of his career lately, it was quite impressive what Drummond pulled off. While 5-for-6 with 12 points, eight rebounds, and two steals doesn’t jump off the page or make any headlines, his team-leading +20 was one of the most critical factors in the Bulls’ short-handed win.

Coby White has arguably been the most essential Bulls’ player during their recent stretch of 10-5. Over his last five games, he’s averaging 16 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.6 rebounds off the bench and has provided consistent outside shooting and playmaking in the second unit. He’s quickly become the third scoring option behind Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan and the second-best three-point shooter with 3.0 shots made from beyond the arc during that time. After a trade deadline a few months ago where his name was floated around and being an upcoming free agent this summer, he’s earning more money with each passing game.

Patrick Beverley Is An All-Time Troll

A few months ago, in his Pat Bev Pod podcast, Beverley had one thing in mind when it came to playing the Los Angeles Lakers twice while wearing a Chicago Bulls jersey for the remainder of the 2022-23′ season.

Playing mind games before Sunday’s matchup, Beverley started with a social media post that he later claimed was only part of an ad that he was overdue on. He clarified that it had nothing to do with the return trip to his former team. Whether or not that’s the truth is a mystery, but either way, it was perfectly timed and placed troll at his former club.

Not only did he make true on his goal by handing them a loss on Sunday in Los Angeles, but he had plenty of classic ‘Pat Bev antics’ to accompany the win. Starting with the widely known Lakers fan and Undisputed host Shannon Sharpe, Beverley gestured to the former NFL star sitting courtside.

Now for the most highly anticipated meme, the troll heard ’round the world. Presenting Patrick Beverley telling the widely accepted second-greatest player of all-time, LeBron James, that he’s “too little” after scoring a bucket on the King late in the fourth quarter, enjoy.
