Kevin Durant Officially Linked To the Bulls

-

The Brooklyn Nets have been the NBA equivalent of a car wreck, but instead of somebody helping the situation, they’re pumping the flames with more gasoline. The Nets are sitting with a .500 record almost a quarter into the regular season. Joe Tsai, Nets’ owner, seems to have had enough of the clown show that is the Brooklyn Nets. Six months ago, Kevin Durant requested a trade. With a dark cloud looming over the city of Brooklyn, it’s time for Tsai to accept the reality of this failed experiment and grant Durant’s request to play for a contender. Lucky for Tsai, the Bulls have plenty to offer. According to legendary Bulls reporter Sam Smith, the Bulls should go all in for Kevin Durant.

“Durant is just starting his last best four years of his career with a new contract. If he’s there and I’m the Bulls, I’m all in unless they believe they have a title team now. The Bulls aren’t loaded with draft picks from the Vucevic trade, but they have some; and teams seem to like future picks. The Bulls also have young players who were top draft picks. With Drummond and Dragic, the Bulls have shown a good ability to fill out a team. I’d be all in for Durant if I had a chance.” Smith Wrote

Chicago Bulls Potential Offer for Durant

It’s never easy trading away a superstar; it’s even tougher to agree on a deal that would land you more than four first-round picks, which is the market the Minnesota Timberwolves set when they acquired Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz. The Bulls can arguably put together the best trade package for Kevin Durant with a mix of first-round picks and a few promising young players.

Bulls Trade: Patrick Williams, Ayo Dosunmu, DeMar DeRozan, 2024, 2026, 2030 first-round picks.

Nets Trade: Kevin Durant

The New Look Chicago Bulls

After the dust settles, you’re left with Kevin Durant, Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and Lonzo Ball once he returns in a few weeks. You took the core from last year and flipped the best player on the Bulls for arguably the best player in the NBA. Youth and depth do take a hit, but Ayo Dosunmu’s presence won’t be missed as much with Goran Dragic and Alex Caruso on deck. As for Patrick Williams, the talent is there, but the poor aggression could force the Bulls to sell high on Williams before the rest of the NBA realizes his lack of growth.

Starting Lineup: Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine, Kevin Durant, Javonte Green, Nikola Vucevic

Whether you’re a Patrick Williams apologist or not, everybody can admit the Bulls should go all-in for Kevin Durant, even if it means trading away a former 4th round pick with a career average of 9 PPG.

New Look Brooklyn Nets

Once the Nets trade away Kevin Durant and fully commit to the tank by sending away Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons, they’ll be left with an arsenal of draft picks. However, they’ll also be left with promising young potential stars. Ayo Dosunmu has shown growth in his second season with the Bulls. Patrick Williams has a die-hard fan base cheering him on every game, which seems to believe he’s the next Kawhi Leonard. If Joe Tsai has the same vision, they could try to develop him with a more significant role on the team. Finally, they have a superstar in DeMar DeRozan to bring fans into the stadium while transitioning from super team to super garbage. DeRozan will have an expiring deal next year, which the Nets can flip for more picks at the trade deadline to a desperate team: like the Lakers.

It’s not every day a star like Kevin Durant is available in the trade market. The last time a Top 3 Player was traded was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975. It won’t be easy to land a superstar like Durant, but the Bulls, as currently constructed, do not have a choice. Either go all-in for Durant or consider tanking themselves. Just don’t be stuck in limbo.

The Nets are a clown show BECAUSE of Joe Tsai. It’s always funny reading articles from journalists that don’t actually cover the team. 🤡

the better deal would be trying to get turner and hield from indiana. vucevic just cant play defense. this was obvious last night when he was lost guarding ayton, i still maintain trying drummond as the starting center and trying vucevic at williams’ forward spot.

Officially Linked?!?!?

So a blogger quotes a writer that suggests a possible trade that would bring Durant to the Bulls in his opinion?

Not what I would define as an “official link.” Let me know when a story breaks that Bulls and Nets have been having conversations about a potential trade.

In the end, I can only blame myself for clicking on this headline.
