REPORT: The Chicago Blackhawks Trade Brandon Hagel

-

The Chicago Blackhawks rebuild has begun, as Brandon Hagel is on the move.

And it’s just the beginning Blackhawks fans.

The Blackhawks send Brandon Hagel and two-fourth round picks to the Tampa Bay Lighting for Tampa’s first-round pick this year, and next year, Taylor Raddysh, and Boris Katchouk.

Hagel wasn’t going to be traded and should’ve been a part of the rebuild.

Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson had some things to say about today’s move.

“I said a few weeks ago that we are rebuilding, and this is the start. Getting two FIRST-ROUND picks as well as TWO, YOUNG, NHL players helps us kickstart that process in a major way. We know that Brandon hagel was a fan favorite – as our fans loved him for all the REASONS we loved HIM AND we know he will be SUCCESSFUL with the lighting”

Hagel was having an incredible season for the Blackhawks, he had 21 goals, 16 assists (37 points) in 55 games played, and was the one player they’d get the best return for.

The Return The Chicago Blackhawks Got In The Brandon Hagel Trade

Taylor Raddysh was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round of the 2016 NHL draft. He has played in 53 games this year and has 5 goals 7 assists (12 points).

Oh and Raddysh played with Alex DeBrincat, and Dylan Strome in the OHL so we could see them on a line together.

Boris Katchouk was also drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2nd-round of the 2016 NHL draft. He is 23-years old, with the lighting this year, he has 4 assists, and 2 goals, (6 points) in 38 games played.

He has also played with their AHL team, and only had 1 point in 3 games played.

This is the beginning to a new chapter of the Chicago Blackhawks so buckle in because we could be seeing more players leave the team.

It’s a good thing to gain draft picks to start this rebuild off on the right foot.
