A hat trick on hat night? Who cares? Toews did everyone one better when he tallied three goals on hard hat night February 27, 2009.
The Blackhawks ended up losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins but it was memorable for the hard hats flying onto the ice. The story is also funny because what everyone thought was Toews’ third goal, was disallowed. Being the great guy that he is, he made sure to get another one so the fans didn’t feel cheated.
