Tom Brady holds the status as the greatest of all time for a reason. Seven Super Bowl titles tend to make a good argument. The next closest has four. Yet people don’t understand how Brady thinks. This man’s competitive fire is on another level. So much that he has no qualms about rubbing it in the faces of the opponents he beat to reach the mountaintop. He doesn’t care. If you don’t like it? Beat him.

His latest victim is none other than the Green Bay Packers. Bears fans probably remember what happened back in January. Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 31-26 triumph at Lambeau Field. It was a shocking turn of events for the Packers who’d cruised to a 13-3 record and easily dismissed the Rams in their playoff opener. Never one to pass up an opportunity to kick an opponent when they’re down, Brady absolutely bodied Green Bay on Twitter when it was announced both he and Aaron Rodgers would get together for a golf match this July.

Wow. That is utterly ruthless.

For those who don’t get the root of the burn, here’s a quick recap. During the conference title game, Green Bay had the ball down 31-23. They’d driven to the Buccaneers 8-yard line where things bogged down. Facing 4th and 8 with 2:08 remaining, it seemed like an obvious decision to go for it. They had MVP Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Just let him do his thing, right? Nope. Head coach Matt LaFleur elected to kick a short field goal instead.

He was banking that his defense would have enough time to get a quick stop and give Rodgers one more chance. LaFleur clearly forgot the guy he was faced. Brady engineered a series of first downs to drain the clock, aided by a complete defensive meltdown that featured three penalties. Rodgers never saw the ball again. Tampa Bay won the game and it marked the fifth time Green Bay had fallen in an NFC championship during the Rodgers era.

Tom Brady is all about reminding people who he is

Rodgers may have won the MVP. Green Bay may have had the best regular season. Do you know how much either of those things ultimately means? Nothing. He was the one who ended up with the most important hardware. That is what separates him from everybody else. Rings always have been and always will be the determining factor in who is the greatest ever. People who wish to continue arguing Rodgers’ case can now kindly take their medicine.

Tom Brady no doubt is hoping for a little revenge from last year. He participated in the first The Match event that pitted him and Phil Mickelson against Tiger Woods and longtime nemesis Peyton Manning. The trash talk during that event was legendary.

In the end, Manning got the last laugh.

One has to imagine that riled Brady up. So he’s already begun taking his frustrations out on Rodgers. Hopefully, he’ll be mic’d up for that event. There is no telling what depths he’ll sink to in order to get in Rodgers’ head.
