Tyreek Hill’s Bizarre Chase Claypool Comment Led To Incredible Fan Replies

-

Ever since Chase Claypool landed in Miami after the Chicago Bears traded him, the wide receiver has been the subject of some wild quotes by his new team. It started with head coach Mike McDaniel openly stating the Dolphins didn’t need another receiver. Their room was more than strong enough. It was hard not to read that as him saying the trade wasn’t necessary. He didn’t view Claypool as a weapon, merely insurance in case of injuries. Not exactly a warm welcome. Then Tyreek Hill spoke up next.

When asked about his new teammates, the star wide receiver uncorked one of the weirdest descriptions heard on a sound byte in a long time.

What? Of all the descriptions Hill could’ve used, that certainly wasn’t at the top of the list. He was trying to describe Claypool as big with that 6’4, 220-lb frame. Of course, by the time the quote went out, it was too late. Football fans got hold of it on social media and didn’t hold back in their replies. Let’s just say Claypool got scorched in several different ways.

Tyreek Hill made Claypool even more of a punchline.

The fact it was unintentional probably makes it even worse. Claypool is a national punch line. He got traded from two teams within the space of a year because they didn’t want to deal with his immaturity and inconsistency anymore. He’s one of the most talented players at his position in the NFL. Yet he never plays like it. Defensive backs constantly outmuscle him for 50-50 balls. His blocking effort is laughable. His career can’t be called anything other than a disappointment.

So, the vending machine description was rather apt. Tyreek Hill summed it up perfectly. Just not in the way he intended. Word is Miami will try working Claypool in at tight end, hoping to use that big body at a position it may fit better. Unfortunately, tight ends have to be physical with their playing styles. As we’ve established, he is not known for his physicality. It might be wise to temper expectations for him down there. Just like a vending machine.
