Two More Incidents Prove Ben Johnson Is A World-Class Troll

-

One thing has been consistent about every Chicago Bears head coach for over 30 years: They all avoided the media like the plague and did their absolute best to remain as bland as possible. Most of them didn’t get away with it. They still found a way to cause media controversies. It appears Ben Johnson is from the new generation of head coaches. He has zero reservations about showing his personality. People are finding out that not only is he smart, but he’s also devilish at teasing people.

Several people found that out over the past few weeks. It started during the NFL draft last month. Everybody knows the Bears took tight end Colston Loveland with the 10th overall pick. As it turns out, the camera crew filming the behind-the-scenes action for 1920 Football Drive missed a monumental clue, according to Johnson.

The head coach wasn’t done. A couple of weeks later, a Bears media member was caught on camera after a Johnson presser saying, “I love this guy.” Unable to resist, here is how the head coach ended his most recent meeting with the media.

Ben Johnson is a natural-born troll.

Nobody can say the man lacks self-confidence. He has zero qualms about taking jabs at anybody, including Green Bay Packers head coach Matt Lafleur, whom Ben Johnson admitted a significant delight in beating several times while in Detroit. There is no question the man is intense and obsessed with perfection on the football field. However, he can balance that out by not taking himself too seriously in other facets of his job. A willingness to play pranks on other people in the building shows a whimsical side to him that almost never showed up with previous head coaches. That balance could end up serving him well as he tries to lead a locker room filled with players low on belief.
