Top Insider Says Justin Fields Trade Is A Lock And What Bears Likely Get

-

The Chicago Bears haven’t even retooled their coaching staff yet after cleaning out most of the offensive guys. GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus remain active in accomplishing this task. One would think they won’t have a clear plan of what they’ll do at quarterback until that is situation. They still must attend the Senior Bowl, scouting combine, and pro days. One would think they won’t make a firm decision on Justin Fields until then. However, that is not the way things are trending.

Several prominent insiders have already voiced their belief that Chicago already knows what they plan to do. It is merely a matter of letting the process play out. Benjamin Allbright of KOA Colorado is among the most well-connected and accurate insiders in the business. Doug McCray had him as a guest on the Big Douglas Show. He asked Allbright what the Bears would do with Fields. He stated unequivocally that everybody he’s talked to around the league believes the quarterback will be traded.

He even gave Bears fans an idea of what the return will likely be.

Everything points to this happening for Justin Fields.

So either Poles is conducting one of the greatest deception campaigns in recent NFL history or it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion the Bears will reset the QB clock. Right now, Caleb Williams is the heavy favorite to be that #1 overall pick. However, that idea still has a chance to change with interviews still to come. The bottom line is there will be a new quarterback in Chicago next season. Poles’ job will be finding the best possible package for Fields from an interested trade partner.

Mel Kiper recently said he thinks a 1st round pick isn’t out of the question. While that would be great, Allbright’s projections sound more realistic. At least one 2nd rounder and maybe two if a team is desperate enough. Justin Fields finished last season strong, showing signs of progress as a passer. He is still only 24 years old. It isn’t hard to imagine one team believing they can succeed where the Bears failed and pay a hefty price to prove it. Poles has a strong track record for getting great returns on players. That will be an important subplot to watch.
