Minicamps and OTAs are done. That means the Chicago Bears have entered the true dead period of the offseason. Players and coaches are free to take some vacation time. How they spend it depends on the person. Some will travel, relax, or make extra preparations for training camp next month. What hasn’t been known is the exact date for when the real action begins. Details finally emerged on that front. We know when camp begins for the Bears, along with some other important information.
Rookies are set to report on July 19th. That gives them a chance to get acclimated to what is expected of them. Veterans will follow three days later on July 22nd. From there, it will be a steady string of intense practice for two weeks. Then things will get interesting. The Bears will have two joint practices in August. First will be the 8th against the Miami Dolphins. Next will be a week later on the 15th against the Buffalo Bills. Each of those practices will be followed by a preseason matchup against both teams.
The Chicago Bears have one more piece of information to reveal.
For fans, it is the most important. Those are the practices that will be open to the public. The full release has not happened yet. That information will become available then. It is a safe assumption that around nine practices will allow fan attendance. Halas Hall will host the festivities, as has become the team’s standard operating procedure. It isn’t yet known which teams are hosting the joint practices. That information may determine whether video will be allowed from fans. The Chicago Bears have a strict policy that no video recordings are allowed. That could be different if the Dolphins and/or Bills host the practice. Keep an ear out for that information in the coming days.

I see that UPENN has slid down in the QS Global University rankings for 2026. Is Trump to blame?
Imperial has climbed above Oxford and Cambridge. What is happening in this world?
Walter is buying the Lakers from Buss. Too bad it was not the Chisox.
@Dr.Sallie: For secrecy reasons. If recording were allowed, some Packers fan would show up to a Bears practice wearing Bears gear, record the whole practice, and then give the recording to Matt LaFleur, etc.
The Bears much prefer to just hand out little snippets of their choosing, like the Darnell Wright one handed catch, etc.
