This Bears Draft Hype Video Guarantees To Get The Adrenaline Flowing

-

As if fans weren’t excited enough already. Now a Chicago Bears draft hype video is out? Have mercy already. No doubt this is prime time for GM Ryan Pace. He has made it clear over the past two years that his job rests with stacking good drafts on top of each other. That is the only way he’ll be able to rebuild the organization into a true contender in the division, the conference and the league.

He’s not wrong. Poor drafting is what got the Bears into this mess in the first place. In fact no draft pick selected prior to 2013 is even on the roster anymore. That truth came to pass when Alshon Jeffery decided to leave for Philadelphia in free agency. Thus the team is now putting their faith almost entirely in Pace’s roster decisions.

Based on his 2016 draft results, that is not a bad thing. Something that was emphasized heavily in the video. If this doesn’t get you excited, then it’s probably best to watch something else.

Indeed the 2016 class exceeded expectations. First round pick Leonard Floyd produced seven sacks in 12 games on defense, showcasing that athleticism and burst that makes him so dangerous. Second round pick Cody Whitehair was acquired after not one but two trade downs. Originally slated for left guard, he was forced to play center after Hroniss Grasu tore his ACL. A position he’d never played before. Yet he finished ranked in the top six among all NFL centers.

Fourth round linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski instantly earned a following thanks to his hard-hitting style and tackling prowess. Over the course of last year he showed rapid improvement in every area. The crown jewel of the class though was fifth round pick Jordan Howard. An overlooked running back out of Indiana, he rose from the depths to become the starter for Chicago four games into the season. By the time he was done he was the second-leading rusher in the NFL and a Pro Bowler.

If Pace can have anywhere close to the same success as that group, the Bears will be in great shape for 2017.
