The Chicago Bears’ Schedule Just Got Even More Interesting

The Chicago Bears have assembled an exciting roster in almost every facet. Their offense has a rebuilt front line led by two Pro Bowl guards. Colston Loveland, Luther Burden, and Olamide Zacchaeus add more juice to their arsenal of weapons around Caleb Williams. On defense, they fortified their front with Grady Jarrett, Dayo Odeyingbo, and Shemar Turner. Most importantly, they have a new head coach in Ben Johnson who has assembled a staff that is littered with proven names like Dennis Allen, Al Harris, and Antwan Randle El.

This team looks like it can win games. The question is how they will navigate what appears to be a tough schedule. It got even weirder on Monday when the Pittsburgh Steelers made a blockbuster trade. They sent five-time Pro Bowl safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for former All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith. This caps one of the weirdest offseasons in recent memory after Pittsburgh traded for DK Metcalf and signed Aaron Rodgers.

Historically, Pittsburgh has always been a tough opponent. Head coach Mike Tomlin has never had a losing record in his career and made the playoffs again last season. On paper, this Steelers team looks formidable. There is one problem. For all the talent they’ve assembled, they also took on some serious personalities. Ramsey and Rodgers, especially, are notorious for being malcontents who aren’t afraid to speak their minds in public. It isn’t a coincidence that both keep finding themselves on new teams every few years. This feels like an organization going all in on a 2025 Super Bowl run. It will either succeed or blow up in their faces spectacularly. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears will certainly have the youth advantage and also play the Steelers at Soldier Field. It would be so poetic if they could send Rodgers into retirement with his first loss to them in seven years.
