Tarik Cohen Gives Incredible Response on His TD Pass in Baltimore

-

Tarik Cohen was so happy with himself for TD pass to Zach Miller

Clinging to a 3-0 lead late in the second quarter, the Bears knew they needed to get points if they were going to have a real shot at taking the game over. With the Ravens defense harassing Mitch Trubisky on every drop back, offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains decided to uncork a surprise. Taking a pitch to the right, Cohen looked like he was set to run, but then pulled up and fired a pass to a streaking Zach Miller for a 21-yard touchdown.

After the game Cohen was approached about that play and his thoughts about it. Never known for his modesty, the rookie thought the throw was rather good.

High (self)praise indeed. The amazing thing about the play was its context. Not only was Cohen a running back, he was also only 5’6″. According to the stat gurus, he became the first person in 83 years who threw an NFL touchdown pass while standing under 5’7″. Not only did Cohen love hearing that, he even gave himself a new nickname to celebrate.

He can certainly add it to the list:  Human Joystick, Chocolate Badger, and Wee ‘Rik. If nothing else Cohen is proving to be something the stuffy Bears have lacked the past few years. He’s entertaining away from the field. He seems like the guy who will keep teammates loose, and that’s a great thing.
