Shocking Rumor About Alan Williams Was TRUE

-

So much happened with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday that it’s hard not to feel exhausted 24 hours later. Yet, the news cycle never stops. Nothing was crazier than the abrupt resignation of defensive coordinator Alan Williams. A statement from him indicated he was stepping away for health and family reasons. No details were offered, and the organization has remained incredibly tight-lipped whenever asked about it. To date, only one person offered supposed details on what happened. That was Jon Zaghloul of Sports Talk Chicago.

He stated that the FBI conducted raids on both Williams’ house and Halas Hall in the past few days. National reporters were quick to refute that any raid at Halas took place. However, they seemed to conveniently not mention Williams’ home. Now we know why. Pat McAfee of ESPN appeared on his show to discuss the situation. He stated unequivocally that based on his own sources, a raid did indeed occur at Williams’ house. McAfee has strong connections throughout the NFL and other mediums. He doesn’t say stuff like this without confidence it’s accurate.

The Alan Williams rumor confirmation may not end there.

As to the Halas Hall situation, this is where the word “raid” comes into focus. Technically, what was reported is correct. There was no raid on the building. However, sources informed SM that an FBI forensics and tech team was there at some point in the past few days. So, while not a raid in the traditional sense, it’s becoming clear law enforcement is gathering information on Williams’ activities. If it involves the FBI, whatever is going on must be serious. The only question is what that is.

Since the Bears aren’t commenting, it is obvious they’ve been instructed to stay silent on the subject. That typically happens when an investigation is ongoing. Sensitive information is involved. First priority for the organization is distancing themselves from Alan Williams as quickly as possible. Odds are details will emerge eventually. Until then, all they can do is move forward. A new defensive coordinator is expected at some point in the coming days.

Hope like hell this isn’t a gambling, point shaving or “game fixing” issue, but nothing would surprise me at this point…

I just hope one was harmed.. mentally or physically. Other than that, let’s get back to actual football talk. Everything else right now is just speculation.

No opinion until we can verify FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES what is afoot. Not knowing at this time, isn’t bad. Accuracy is important.
Focus on what the organization needs: simplicity, unity, releasing Justin Fields’ inner Justin Fields and seeing if they can win the next game.
